Phineas is Back Home
Happy to report that on Friday, Liz brought Phineas back home. He’s once more with us and recuperating nicely.
Liz noticed that Daisy had been sneezing just a little bit, these last few days. So she took Daisy for a checkup when she went to get Phineas. Good thing, because it turns out Daisy had a lot of upper respiratory noise as well.
They took a culture, and are checking to see if Daisy has borditella (and they’re now thinking this is what Phineas also has).
Both Daisy and Phineas are at home, and on a bit of medication. Once we know for certain what’s what, we’ll likely have to get them on a newer round of meds.
For now, we’re not letting them out to run around (which I know they’re not happy about). But Phineas, while seemingly better, still isn’t quite himself. He’s more subdued – and we notice his breathing still gets rapid/labored every once in a while.
I’d say Daisy seems fine, but Phineas is maybe at 80%. They still run around, but he seems to need more time to catch his breath after a lot of activity. As a side bit of good news – the chasing still seems to happen, but Liz and I now think that Daisy likes being chased. That she eggs Phineas on specifically so that he will end up chasing her.
