The Goonies Coloring Adventure Book
I meant to do a more in-depth post, adding in screenshots from the movie alongside each illustration. But that was an ambitious idea, and I am a lazy man. So I’m mostly just going to post up the photos of the thing, without much commentary.
As a recap, I came across this great find at a place called Antique Marketplace, a few weeks ago when Liz and I were on vacation in Austin.
It was inside this booth, which at first glance is something I wouldn’t have really gone into. But something in the bookshelf on the far right caught my eye.
On closer inspection, gold: A Goonies coloring book. Here it is:
Out of all the illustrations, this one puzzles me the most. A teddybear? It’s been a long while since I’ve seen the movie, but I don’t recall anything related to this at all.
Perhaps it was an issue where they couldn’t show a “Baby Ruth” bar due to trademark issues? I feel like the editor said “Look, we have some leftover Teddy Ruxbin clipart – just sprinkle some of that in there and we’re done.”
