Bonobo: Kerala

I’ve not really heard much by Bonobo, but someone at work shared this music video – and I was captivated.

It was described as a “difficult video to watch,” which in some ways is true. When I was focusing primarily on the woman in the video – it was tough to watch.

But then I started to shift my focus to the peripherals. I started to look past her, and at the things happening in the background.

I guess I’ll leave it at that. If you want something to keep an eye out for – in the first scene, look for a woman wearing a green sweater and a checkered skirt. Track her for a bit and you’ll see.

This video reminded me a lot of two videos by Michel Gondry: Star Guitar and Come Into My World.

I’ve watched this video a few times now, and seem to pick up a little more each time. I’m not a huge fan of the song overall, but the video is incredibly well done.

// Edit: Just came across a version of the video that someone had edited, removing all the cuts. Definitely watch the original first, but this is a fun follow-up:
