A Lazy West Wing Marathon Day
Liz and I spent a lot of today in bed, watching old episodes of The West Wing. We’ve seen the series before, and I think this is maybe our third or fourth time going through it (though we have a strong preference for the Sorkin era).
It’s a comfortable show to go back to, and in so many ways… though it’s about politics, to me it’s a fantastic comedy as much as it is a drama. The dialogue is so fun and great, it’s easy to overlook how old the series is (every so often, I’ll catch a glimpse of the computers or flip-phones and wince).
We’ve been traveling a lot, these last few weeks – visiting family in Indianapolis last weekend, and family in Detroit the weekend before that.
Our goal is to make progress on the house this week, but I think today we just needed to stay still and relax a bit. We got to our respective offices late in the evening… but for the most part, today was a kind of recovery day.
