Hidden Coffee

I got off the train a stop earlier than normal, and walked with Liz to a kind of “secret” place for coffee – near State and Jackson.

Liz came across this a few days ago, and it was neat to walk down this little alley, not expecting to see a set of storefronts set up.

It’s right around the corner from the old Emmis Interactive office. And in fact, I remembered that this used to be a kind of gated off area. I walked by it countless times, but I guess things have changed over the last 5 years.

I spent over an hour and a half, scouring my blog to try to find some old photo I had taken of this exact spot. I know I’ve got a photo somewhere, but I just can’t seem to find an image of what this used to look like. I would love to be able to show off the before/after.

I’ll be honest – it’s been driving me nuts.

It really is an incredibly photogenic little coffee shop.

  1. The place is called Pitchfork, but I had a hard time figuring out any official website. Good coffee, though!

// Update: It’s actually called Pickwick Coffee.
