More Mysterious Metra Marks
Spotted another set of these marks again, on the way in to work this morning. Or rather, Liz spotted these – as I walked by completely oblivious.
Liz said “You really do start to see them everywhere, once you spot them.”
So with this configuration, it adds a little more insight into perhaps how the original turnstiles might have been situated. I would love to see what this particular room/building looked like, maybe a few decades earlier.
Funny thing is that, about 100 feet West of here is the Hyde Park Historical Society, housed in an 1893 restored cable car station nearby. I bet there are some photos there I could peruse.
I really should try to swing by there, one of these days…
