Setting Up a New Craftsman Table Saw

Tonight, Bob was over and helped us set up a new Craftsman Table Saw we purchased. Additionally, he brought over a replacement for our miter saw, which was working fine… but a piece of errant wood broke off the guard. Thankfully, the warranty we got covered a full replacement – so Bob helped set up both.

Liz, looking over the instructions.

The base, assembled.

The saw top (which was surprisingly quite light).

Adding the clamps that will hold the saw in place. There is an option to fully bolt down both pieces, but given that we’ll likely be moving this around in the near future… usin the clamps/latches made more sense.

Top and bottom, assembled.

Bob setting up the blade, the riving knife, kickback guard, and blade guards. Having watched other table saws in action, I do feel we have a lot of safety features/protections in place here.

Bob, about to try out the saw for the first time. I love the look on Liz’s face.

Bob’s description of the cut: “Like buttah.”

Our workshop grows by one! It’s nice that these two are very portable, as the hope is once we’re finished down here… we’ll be moving on up!
