Liz sent me this photo she took, near the Metra stop at 56th. There have been some really strong winds today, and I guess things proved too much for this tree.

I was going to say “little” but it’s not little at all! The more I look at this photo, the more in awe I am.

I think this guy was planted in a small bed on the corner, as it doesn’t seem to have many roots. Winds were definitely strong today, but it’s a miracle this guy didn’t uproot before now. It looks as though it was sitting in about a foot of soil!

It’s sad to note that this tree resides on the block that recently had a lot of trees cut down. Now there’s one less.

For those long-time readers who might be wondering: yes, despite the strong windso today… our car is just fine.
