Primitive Technology: Mesmerizing Videos on YouTube
Last weekend, Liz and I were up late watching television. Well, sorta. I had YouTube up on our TV, and was going through a channel that I subscribe to called Primitive Technology.
It’s pretty freaking awesome.
Here’s a bit of a teaser video, to give you a sense of what his videos are about:
Believe it or not, Liz and I stayed up until about 1:30 AM watching video after video. They were just fascinating! Some we had seen before, but several were a bit newer to us.
In some ways, these videos remind me a bit of Alone in the Wilderness.
There are a ton of different videos to check out, but this one involving the building of a tiled roof hut is pretty fantastic:
PS: Make sure to turn on the captions!
I hope you like these videos, and end up subscribing. It’s hard to fathom how much time these videos must take (both the building/recording time, as well as the editing time).
As a side note, I love how I’m using so much technology (YouTube, the Internet, and my PS4) to watch videos of someone building things out of wood and clay and fire.
You can find out more about the project on the official web site.
