Halfway There

On my way to work, I stopped at Wabash and Randolph and caught some CTA workers painting the El tracks overhead. At first glance, all I caught was the crane in the middle of the street… but after a few moments, I realized the entire structure was in a state of flux: half painted, half unpainted.

It was fun to chance across this work happening, and made me smile. The last few weeks at work, I’ve been a little stressed and overly worried about my day to day. And this morning, it felt nice to be taken out of that mindset, if just for a bit.

It would be nice to come back to this spot in another 119 years, to see how things look then.
