The Hearts We Let Go

Spotted this balloon heart the day after Valentine’s day, stuck in a tree near our house.

The wind was bumping it around a good deal, and I wasn’t sure whether I wanted it to remain in place or to free itself, and float away. I wasn’t sure which option was better.

It was a captivating sight, stopping me in my tracks on the way to work. My neighbor Betsy spotted this the night before, and captured the moment in a lovely bit of video.
