S. Rosen’s: a Hot Dog is a Sandwich

While Liz and I were downtown today, I happened to see a S. Rosen’s delivery truck. After a few seconds, it dawned on me that the marketing/advertising on the side of the truck was rather controversial.

The text talks about sandwiches, but the image is clearly of a hot dog. Which leads to the classic question: is a hot dog a sandwich?

Kind of depends on who you ask. Or, you could always consult the Sandwich Alignment Chart.

I like how the marketing on this truck is faded with time, but has this almost combative quality to it… as it clearly takes a stand on the hot dog / sandwich debate. In my head, I see the truck driving down Michigan Avenue while people periodically start screaming “What?” and “Nooo!” and “Wrong!”
