Staining the Basement Steps, Revisited

Though we ran into problems staining the basement steps, Bob came over today while we were at work… and using new boards, re-cut all the treads (using the old ones as guides).

By the time we got home, we found a new set waiting for us.

Or, more specifically, waiting for Liz. She’s the one with the most staining and woodworking experience, and she was the one who sanded the boards down tonight, and re-applied the stain.

Applying a second coat. It’s all looking so much better than the first time around.
