Bagster at Night
In an unusual turn, I’ve opted to schedule a Bagster pickup for the middle of the week.
With all the street work and no-parking areas, it’s been critical for us to have the driveway available/open for Bob. And the thing with Bagster bags is that when you schedule a pickup day, they promise to remove it… within three days of that scheduled time.
So if you schedule it to be picked up Monday, it could sit there until Wednesday. Kind of a gamble.
Bob’s not headed over here for the rest of this week. And so rather than risk blocking the driveway next week, getting a Bagster scheduled for Wednesday pickup (with it removed by Friday) was the best option. And the only way to go about that was to load up the thing tonight, after work.
Luckily, a lot of the bags were already either on the porch or out along the driveway. Just a lot of hauling and lifting. I had underestimated how many bags we had, and would have liked just a little more. But given how busy things have been, I wasn’t willing to try to kill ourselves tonight to add a moderate amount more to the bag.
Ultimately, I did manage to decently fill it up. As fast as this gets taken out of the house, I’ve got plans to generate more debris come this weekend.
Fun note – the street work lately has made it seemingly difficult for people to see our driveway. We’ve had two cars now park themselves in a way that hinders our access. In the photo above – I had already filled the bag, and returned later to see that this car had shown up.
The kicker of it is: they could have just pulled up another few feet, as there was plenty of room in front of them. Baffling. On the plus side, they eventually moved this (the next day) and didn’t interfere with our pickup, thankfully.
