Felix Jung, 20×2 Chicago: Is It Possible?
My video from 20×2 Chicago is up! The prompt for all the participants was: Is It Possible? Here’s my answer:
For those of you who remember my posts from the early Emmis days, there was a spate of food-related bets from about 2005 – 2007.
The biggest one though, was the Vending Machine Challenge, undertaken by the fearless Anthony DeMoon.
I’m glad I got a chance to share this story with people, and absolutely cannot believe this happened nearly 14 years ago.
The video I made of the Vending Machine Challenge was maybe my second video I ever posted on YouTube. I remember stitching it together from multiple files, on my very first Mac, way back when. Here it is in full:
Even now, looking at all those snacks… I have this small, small feeling that perhaps it just might be possible to eat all that food. Just maybe.

You absolutely KILLED the narration on this one!! Well done, my friend. I can’t tell you the joy this brought me, to find this post and relive that beautiful slice in time. Made me miss Anthony!
Chris (October 31, 2019 at 9:38 pm)I’m glad you liked the talk! It’s still hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that this is FOURTEEN years ago.
The thing that I failed to mention in the talk (and something that still boggles my mind to this day) is that Anthony *came back* to do this challenge. He had already left Q101, so he spent the full day, on his own time, to do this. In addition to being still sick.
avoision (November 2, 2019 at 11:00 pm)He’s a damn legend.
Chris (November 3, 2019 at 6:57 am)I forgot he came back for this! That was such a glorious time period. The perfect culmination of fun, teamwork, silliness, and productivity.
