I happened across an article tonight, entitled The Extraordinary Decisions Facing Italian Doctors. And ever since reading it, I’ve been unable to shake it. I know there’s a lot of Coronavirus news and articles out there, and I’m trying my best to keep a balance of being informed vs being alarmed.
This article though, really shook me. And made me question what’s in store for the US, and the rest of the world.
Today, Italy has 10,149 cases of the coronavirus. There are now simply too many patients for each one of them to receive adequate care. Doctors and nurses are unable to tend to everybody. They lack machines to ventilate all those gasping for air.
It’s a very short article, and the first three paragraphs alone are worth your time. Give it a read. And consider what might be a glimpse of what the US may have to contend with, if we are unable to flatten the curve.
