Penn and Teller: The Nail Gun Trick

I happened across this post on MetaFilter, and had never seen the “nail gun trick” from Penn and Teller.

The video that was shared showed two different versions of the trick, taken at different times, at different venues. But it highlighted the consistency of the act – the timing and nuances and tempo (and, really, skill) displayed at different points in time.

The trick itself really got me, as I’ve seen the power of a nail gun up close. And even used one a few times. It’s a serious thing, and more than once I’ve wondered what it might feel like to accidentally have a nail go through my hand.

As neat as the video is, I think the trick itself is worth sharing. Wish I could have found a better, higher quality video… but this will have to do.
