Climbing Trbovlje Power Station, the World’s Tallest Artificial, Multi-Pitch Route

I happened across this amazing documentary about an artificial climbing route, set up at Slovenia’s Trbovlje Power Station.

You can view some of the details here. But you really need to just watch the video.

Note: this is a Red Bull promotion.

One of the climbers is Janja Garnbret, whose fall in the initial few seconds of the video caught my breath and made me wonder what was going on.

New to multi-pitch climbing, she needs to come to terms with the concept of the jumps. She falls four times in just one pitch, but it’s exactly as route-setters Simon Margon and Katja Vidmar have planned, putting challenging jumps in early on the course to get the pair accustomed to them.

The other climber: Domen Škofic.

I’m terrified of heights, but something like this… I can’t look away. Despite how much I want to look away.
