Painting the Arbor
It’s incredible to think about how much work went into our backyard arbor. From the planning and prototype, through the power augur and construction… it’s been a very involved, multi-step process.
And the past few weeks, we’ve been keeping an eye on the weather for a good window to paint. We needed a few days without rain, time to paint, and a few days afterwards without rain.
This weekend, we got our window.
Late morning, the arbor before we got started.

Late in the day: the arbor, completed.

The painted arbor. It looks a lot more finished/refined, now that there’s not a mixture of white trim and raw wood. It looks much sharper/crisper, and is going to make for a nice backdrop in the wintertime.
I can’t wait to see what this will look like in Spring, with colorful flowers offering a stark contrast. Liz planted several rose bushes alongside the arbor, which will take a few years to fully grow/climb.
After all the initial work, with this coat of paint… it looks really great.
