Vampire Survivors

Vampire Survivors is a described as a “bullet hell roguelike,” which seems to make sense. I tried playing the game online, got sucked in, and ended up buying the $3 version on Steam because I enjoyed it so much.

After about 15-20 minutes, things get a little crazy.

The Powerup process has actually been enjoyable. My worry was that with each new game, it’d be a slog for the first 5+ minutes or so. But on the whole, it’s been enjoyable to start the ball rolling and try to keep ahead of the growing enemies on all sides.

There are a handful of games that I return to, that I can pick up and place for a few minutes at a time. This is the first game in a while that can keep my attention for 15+ minutes, per run. And actually makes me want to commit more time by starting another attempt. A sign, I guess, of a well balanced game.
