Late Night Hail
I woke up in the middle of the night, hearing a light tap-tap-tapping outside our bedroom window. I sensed Liz in the dark, and realized she had also been awakened by the noise outside.
“It’s hail,” she said. And we both listened for a while.
And then, things got crazy. There was a brief pause, and then a sound like a deluge of marbles falling outside. Liz and I rushed downstairs, and caught the last few seconds of a pretty incredible burst of hail.

The snow’s been melting a lot lately, but this was just moments after everything subsided.
It’s been over a decade, since I’ve experienced a good hail storm. And so far, nothing’s quite matched up to the size and strength of what we experienced in Logan Square back in 2011.
A bit of excitement, circa 5AM.
