Deer by the Lake
I was standing in the living room, when Liz whispered Window! to me, and pointed outside. I was able to grab my camera in time to catch a solitary deer, slowly walking by the house.
On our drive up here, there’s a stretch of road that oftentimes has a lot of deer (we have to be very vigilant as there have been a few close calls). I’m not sure how common it is to see deer this close to the lake. In particular, since we’re on a bit of a peninsula.
We haven’t seen many other people up here, besides us. So to see a deer, especially so close to the property, was a lovely surprise.
Liz noticed that the poor guy had a slight limp. Here’s hoping he found some food and shelter, before it got too dark.
