Wooks: Documentary on Hippie Subculture
I’m a big, big fan of Sean Dunne, and am really taken by how he looks at the world. At people, in particular.
I was very moved by American Juggalo, as it entirely reshaped how I looked at Juggalos (fans of the hip hop group Insane Clown Posse).
It would have been very easy for Dunne to go in, and make a video that said “Look at all these crazy people.” Instead, I think he enters each community and tries to look at multiple facets. And there’s a genuine warmth in the way he shares what he finds and sees with the viewer.
