Nouela: Black Hole Sun
Liz and I watched the first season of Willow (the TV series) recently, and I noticed a lot of familiar songs kept appearing throughout the episodes. Looking back, I’m realizing a lot of the songs were popular 5+ years after the original movie release.
I’m sure the marketing teams were focused on pushing the nostalgia factor. Many of the songs I heard (especially the ones at the end credits) were covers of late 80’s, early 90’s tracks.
It’s no secret, I’m a big fan of cover songs that are a slowed-down version of the original (Gary Jules’ cover of Mad World, Mary Lou Lord’s cover of Jump).
I found myself really into this slow and haunting cover of Black Hole Sun, by Nouela:
Digging around some, I guess I’m pretty late to this game. Still, I’m glad I discovered this particular cover, and love Nouela’s version.
