Darlingside: Singularity
I’ve been revisiting Darlinside a lot lately. I’m mostly familiar with their album Birds Say, but have been giving their album Extra Life another listen.
The track I’ve looped a lot lately, is “Singularity”:
Musically, this is the part of the song that pulls me back:
To the west now it begins
In the sound waves in the wind
There is an echo going by me
Of the mountains caving in
In the sound waves in the wind
There is an echo going by me
Of the mountains caving in
I find the chord changes here just incredibly pleasing. It’s hard to describe, but I feel like this moment of the song is why I have this song stuck in my head.
I’m a big fan of the harmonies from this group. It’s a lovely sound, and makes me ache and miss my days of being in a choir. Of adding my voice to a larger collective. An appropriate feeling I guess, for the title of this song.
