Liz’s Birthday 2023, Day 1: Red Arrow Antiques

Spent the day browsing around a few antique malls along Red Arrow. Hard to believe that we were here a DECADE ago. I could have sworn this was maybe 5 or so years back, but 10? I don’t know where the time goes.

Ah, Sears.

Cookbooks and behavior.

Of course, I had to crack open the Etiquette book.

So many questions here.

Levels.

An old clock.

Detail. This would be phenomenal to have in a living room.

Interior view.

Not sure who to trust more: Mrs. Stewart or the Country Doctor.

Again, there’s always one title that jumps out.

Table of Contents: How to Cook a Wolf.

This is an odd book.

He will remember, some time when he is a man, that once he decided not to eat a chocolate bar, but to let the taste of a stolen apple ride an hour or two longer on his appreciative tongue. And whatever decision he must make as a man will probably be the solider for that apple he ate so long since.

Regretting not buying this.

An old set of Tolkien.

Old photographs.

An old viewer of moving photographs.

Old cameras.

Something I haven’t seen before – an old Looney Toons projector.

Not sure how this actually works – maybe just slides?

Old board games.

Pull me.

Wait, what have I been cleaning my shoes with this whole time?

This design on this board game is fantastic.

An old check printer, perhaps?

This thing was heavy/sizable.

“Insured against loss on altered checks.”

Came across a section with actual photographs, and got lost here for a spell.

Nearly every old photo I find at antique stores/malls… each one contains a lifetime. So much history and life in this glimpse of a moment.
