First Day in the Backyard
After work today, Liz and I spent a bit of time out in the backyard. The temps aren’t great (it’s still a bit chilly), but we wanted to get a start on some overdue work in back.
I had a sense we needed to mow the grass before we left for Liz’s birthday celebration, but I didn’t realize just how overgrown things had gotten.
There was a bit of rain before we left, and a bit of rain on our return. Today was the first day to tackle the grass, and it definitely needed a bit of attention.
Side note: that’s one good looking arbor.
Liz, digging out an old rose bush to make way for a… newer rose bush.
Liz came across a pretty huge root, likely something left over from the large tree that we had to cut down, almost a decade ago.
Luckily, we both have some decent experience removing big roots. All it really needs is a Sawzall, a wood blade, and a long extension cord. Made pretty short work of this guy.
It’s weird being a homeowner. You end up acquiring some unusual skills.
Liz, putting in the new roses.
