Found Nestling
We were in the backyard, when Liz put her hand up… and motioned to her ear. We listened, and I could hear the sound of a slight chirping.
We knew it was close, but couldn’t quite tell where. On looking around in our neighbor’s backyard, we eventually found this little guy.
He was so difficult to see, even though we could hear him. I was terrified of stepping on him, and was very slow to walk near him.
Liz eventually was able to pick him up. We weren’t sure where to place him (knowing that leaving him in the yard wasn’t going to be good).
We’ve had birds nesting in this spot, near our back kitchen door. We took a chance, and deposited the guy in here… along with some extra hay/material, as well as a wooden shim to prevent him from falling out.
We’re not sure how this little guy got into the yard to begin with. Or if this nest is where he originally came from. But it was our best guess.
