Final Furnace Room Drywall
Met up with Bob early today, and we headed over for a breakfast at Valois. Sadly, didn’t end up meeting the good Reverend this time around (but I’m always hopeful, every time we try).
Back at the house, we focused on getting some more drywall up in the furnace room. Not sure if I mentioned, but the stuff we’re putting up is fire board – similar to normal drywall, but just a little denser (and heavier).
We had an additional full sheet downstairs, but luckily didn’t have to go retrieve it. We were just barely able to use our remaining scraps to get the ceiling in.
Finally, for the wall with the subpanel… we broke into the very heavy sound board (ended up cutting it on its side in the hallway).
This thing was tricky to navigate into the furnace room… and even trickier to wedge into place. But it went surprisingly quickly, with just minimal edits along the way.
Been a while since we’ve worked with this heavy soundproof stuff. But very glad to be insulating this room from noise as much as possible, since our bedroom is just on the other side of this wall.
