Late Walk on the Beach

Late in the afternoon, a few of us decided to wander over to the beach for a walk… to catch the sunset.

The path there is a little odd, in that we have to essentially walk through someone’s backyard. But the Holders know the folks here, and it’s a somewhat understood thing that people will walk (respectfully) through others’ property to get to the beach area.

Grace came with us, but she really forged ahead on her own. After a while, I totally lost track of her.

Liz and Kirt, talking about where Chicago is in relation to Whitehall.

On the way back, it was pretty dark… and Sandy had run off. We kept calling for her, but it was difficult to see anything.

Grace stayed behind with the leash, as Kirt and Liz and I made our way back to the house.

With a great deal of relief, we found Sandy waiting for us on the front steps. She crossed a road by herself, which isn’t great… but there aren’t a ton of cars in the area. Suffice it to say, we were all quite happy to have found her back at home.

And for her, I think she was looking at us thinking “Where have you been all this time? I’ve been waiting…”
