4.5 Billion Years in 1 Hour

This video from kurzgesagt attempts to present the history of Earth in a manner that can be consumable/comprehensible by people who are typically unaccustomed to thinking about time at this scale.

Every second shows about a million years of the planet’s evolution.

In an odd way, I’m also reminded of Powers of Ten. Not quite the same thing, but similar.

I’m a big fan of work like this. I think time is incredibly difficult to visualize, and love that someone tried to visualize such a thing on such a scale. Spend a little time, and think about time in a new way.
