Woodworking 101 at Chicago School of Woodworking

About to enter Chicago School of Woodworking, where Liz and I have signed up for the 101 courses.
While the two of us are not without some modicum of rudimentary skills… we’re both looking at some of the more advanced courses (all of which require you to go through the 100-level intro courses). And Liz and I both felt like we could stand to get some basics under our belts.

A fun sign, on the way in. I was reminded of one of the best cat warning signs I’ve ever seen.

A view of the back of the classroom.

A view of the front of the classroom.

Tools for the evening.

A silly thing, but wanted to take a photo of “my” workbench.
Tonight, we covered a lot of the basics: measuring, marking/centering, cutting with the hand saw, and starting to work a bit with the chisel.
