Office Turret, Structural Support: Final
Went back into the office, during the daytime. Liz and I made a specific point to go back into this area during the work day, because it ends up getting too dark at the end of the day.

So surreal to see these bottle nose jacks just sitting here, doing a bunch of nothing.

A view of what we call “the wagon wheel,” the decorative joists that make up the base of the turret.

A slightly better view of the turret area. Liz and I have done our fair share of drywall over the years… but drywalling up here is definitely going to be something we hire out. This is, pun intended, a tall order.

The absence of the ceiling joists is just… difficult to comprehend.

There was an interior wall here, that has since been removed. Originally this was two rooms, but we’re looking to make it into one open space.

It may be difficult to see, but if you look at this older blog post, you can see the wall that used to be here.
We have plans to make this into a shared office space, that also doubles slightly as a guest room. Going to be interesting to play around with this space (now that we have so much of it).
