A Day of Prep
We found out, rather suddenly, rather late, that the electrician we were interested in suddenly had availability in his schedule for us. I got a text today that he could start tomorrow, and that sent me nad Liz scramlbing (a bit), to get prepped.
There was a lot of insulation that came down from the ceiling, and got relocated to the office floor when we had some re-enforcement work done on the turret/ceiling.
With the electrican coming to work on providing power to this room, I needed to clear all that stuff off the plywood floor. One option was to stuff it up into the ceiling/attic, but instead I opted to just relocate everything outside the office.
Not great, but workable.
The floor, a bit clearer. See where the light is? Basically that whole area was covered with insulation, before we moved it.
A bit of Visqueen, blocking off the living room. We’ve put up and taken down so much Visqueen in this spot, we’re old hands at it.
Crazy to think that come tomorrow, we’re going to have two sets of contractors working in two different areas of the house: windows and electrical. It’s going to be a busy place here, in a few hours.
An impromptu bet that Liz and I had, in terms of how long we thought it would take for the workers to install all our windows. Two guys, we’re talking about a custom window installed upstairs… and then four Pella windows downstairs.
I was estimating more than four days, Liz was estimating four or less. We’re betting a bottle of whisky on this, so I guess… stay tuned.
