Alone at the Movies

A night out at the movies, with Tricia and the kids. We were seeing Dune: Part Two, as Liz has kind of become obsessed with the whole Dune movie overall (watching both the first remake as well as the original).

Tonight, we arrived in the nick of time… and discovered we mostly had the entire theater to ourselves. The kids got pretty excited, and scrambled down to the front to get seats closer to the screen.

Liz, Tricia, and I ended up staying in our assigned seats near the top of the rows.

Our solitary experience was broken a bit towards the end of the trailers. A few other families showed up, and so we ended up sharing the space. But for a glorious few moments, we had the run of the place.

It was great to see a movie in an actual theater again (it’s definitely been a while for me). But the folks next to us were a bit loud and chatty for my liking, which only re-enforced my notion that people in public spaces are terrible, and are to be avoided.

I had a good time with the movie, and with the people I was with. The people I wasn’t with? Eh, not so much.
