Whisky and Fire

A pretty slow, lazy day today. We went out for a late breakfast, and decompressed in bed for a few hours after returning home.

In the afternoon, I mowed the yard, did a bit of cleanup. And towards the evening, set up our fire pit so we could sit outside for a little while with some drams.

For me, it’s been a busy few weeks. I didn’t run a marathon or anything, but it’s felt like a whirlwind all the same.

Last week was all about DC and the race. And on returning, it’s been all about prepping for Halloween.

Even though today was a slower day, I found myself having a hard time slowing myself down. My brain just kept thinking forward about the next and next things coming up.

Overall, it was a lazy, slow kind of Saturday. And pretty calm, if I took a step back. The big trick for me is convincing myself I can/need to take that step back.
