Christmas in Indy, Day 5: Opening Christmas Gifts, Visiting Crown Hill
Here’s a peek at what it was like, at my sister’s house, Christmas day:

A big tree, a big (virtual) fireplace, and a big pile of gifts.

Like the rest of us, Kaya is very excited for Christmas day.

My mom and dad, along with Jasmine and Jahnu, opening gifts.

Selfie time.

Kaya, trying out a new Christmas gift.

More gifts to open.

Kids these days, always glued to their phones. Our generation was never like this.

One of the best gifts from the day: a promise from Shane, to Stacey.

Jahnu, Dad, Kaya, Mom, and Jasmine.

Group photo! Another masterclass in how to balance a phone precariously, for 10 seconds.

After a morning of opening gifts, Liz and I packed up for the trek home to Chicago. On our way out, we all stopped over at Crown Hill Cemetery, to pay our respects.
We visited for a while, with my grandfather, grandmother, Uncle Jackie, and Auntie Dawn. Several generations, all in the same space.
And after saying our goodbyes, we said goodbye to one another – each of us departing for back home.
