Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger
Some months ago, I heard news that the band Oasis had re-united, and was going on tour again – after nearly 15 years since they had parted ways.
Around that time, I think I added a few of their popular tracks to my Spotify library (I don’t know more than three or four of their songs). It’d been a long while since I’d listened to any of them, and it was a pleasant bit of nostalgia.

My soul slides away
But “Don’t look back in anger,” I heard you say
I haven’t followed the news much, and don’t have a lot of details around either the runion or the tour. I’ve added several of their songs to a custom playlist, and I’ve gone out running several times, with their songs on a loop.
I think here, the notes and the song itself are stronger than the lyrics. The song evokes an incredible amount of nostalgia, particularly as it fits in a space between undergraduate and graduate school for me.
Some time ago, I was reminded of a band whose songs I liked. And today, I was reminded of their return to the spotlight, if but for a brief moment. And thought I’d remind you, for a brief moment as well.
