Throwback: Prison Break and Q101

While watching Prison Break for the first time, I realized that I actually contributed something to pop culture back in the day. Back when the show was around.

During my time with Emmis Interactive, in the early days at Q101… we made a Flash Game for Prison Break.

It is with great sadness that I tell you that the Wayback Machine did not archive this page. What a shame.

The best I can share is a few mp3s of the audio clips we recorded, to add to the game.

I’m sure you can tell by the image (above) how dated things were. Look at those thumbnail sizes. Look at those pixel fonts. It just screams early 2000s, doesn’t it?

A fun bit of nostalgia, for me to remember.

Tiny note mostly for me (and for folks from Emmis that remember the game): Chris made a tiny little easter egg / reference thing that got added to the game itself. It was this random animation of Charles Patoshik (aka Haywire), riding across the screen on a bicycle, wearing a red football helmet.

  1. Wayback is so bad for Flash stuff! I think I may still have Prison Break on an archive work CD somewhere… the one I will forever miss is the animated (Flash?) Christmas card that a client (?) sent EI: “Bring on the wishes!” I can still see it in my mind’s eye.

    • I vaguely recall this. Was this just a Flash-based holiday card that we sent out? And not the Naughty or Nice project?

    • I just went in and revisited a few older projects (and added Ruffle support, so that they can be viewed in a browser).

The blog desperately needs an update, as I think the Projects section is completely non-functional at this point. But here are a few direct links to projects that you might recall:

      Ultracrib 2
      P3
      Master of the Slopes
