Long Bonding Session

Liz had a long bonding session today with Hugo and Cloudy. It took both bunnies a while to actually settle down, and get to a place where they were calm. And from there, it took a while for them to get comfortable with one another.
Lately, Hugo has been quite the patient bunny. And it’s been Cloudy who’s been more of a troublemaker. She’s prone to biting Hugo, and tends to react aggressively where there are quick motions.
And then after a lot of aggression, Cloudy tends to do the exact opposite – and flops! A sign of being happy/comfortable. It’s all sorts of mixed signals.
Hugo is a young bunny, and had to learn how to be a bunny (around other rabbits). I wonder if Cloudy is the same way – and needs to slowly get comfortable being around other rabbits.

There was this special moment, where Cloudy flopped right next to Hugo. It’s always a little dicey when they get this close, because anything could happen – and things could get violent/aggressive very quickly. But it worked out well.
Hugo, more than once, went in and groomed Cloudy. She didn’t reciprocate, unfortunately. But it’s a start.
