Meds

I was on my own tonight, and tried to get a video of myself wrapping up Hazel in a burrito to give her her meds.
Let me back up some.
Hazel never really took to taking meds from a syringe. Most of our other bunnies were fine with it, but Hazel’s stubborn and wants nothing to do with them. We tried putting on all sorts of stuff at the tip to entice her: critical care, smashed bananas, no dice.
So the only way to give her her medication is to wrap her up in a bunny burrito, and feed them to her that way. Take my word for it: no one in the process finds it pleasant.
Tonight, I was alone… and tried to take a video of myself working single o. But I futzed up the video, and it didn’t work. So I took this photo instead.
It wasn’t an elegant procedure, but I got the job done.
As a side note: it’s tough to be here again, with medication and syringes. Daisy was the last bunny we had that needed meds, due to her age. And with Hugo and Hazel, given how young they are… the idea of either needing medication was something far in the future.
I’m sad to say that Hazel needs these meds now. But hopeful that they will help.
