Australia: Ablaze

Seventh sent me some pics he took, back when Australia (Canberra in particular) was hit with all those fires. Some really great images in there.

Love/Hate

My parents called me up tonight, and we chatted for a while. Got caught up on my grandmother’s condition and, though she’s still going through some tests, things seem to have settled down more. She’s eating regularly and still coughing a bit, but from the sounds of it is improved from last week. Then… my…

Flexibility

Justin and I got into this great talk about how we should design Flash-based projects for the whole network. Until I got to Emmis, I was good at making one-off solutions. Each time someone wanted something, I’d be able to build it. But since working with Ben and Justin, I’ve started to try to stretch…

Blind Spot

Tonight, I went to see a movie with Justin and Emma, and met up with Alex, Sonja and Hennie (spelling?). We all went to go see Blind Spot, a documentary focusing on Hitler’s secretary, which was showing at the Music Box. My oh my, what a gorgeous place. And we didn’t even see the main…

Information Manipulation

Stayed and worked a bit late tonight. Trying to play around with a lot of arrays, and figuring out ways to "sort" information. I’m not sure yet whether I need to work with multidimensional arrays or not… but it’s been fun trying to figure this stuff out. Discovered the Array.sort method. Interesting stuff.

Anything from Pinwheel to Captain Caveman to The Shirt Tales to Count Duckula to Lode Runner…

You Bastards!

So a long, long time ago I got a copy of The Chemical Brothers‘ Loops of Fury as an mp3 file. Loved it. It’s one of the songs I play whenever I’ve got to get a lot of shit done quickly, a good song to play if I’m meaning to crank a lot of things…

There’s a Little Bobby Fischer in All of Us

Walking home, I ran into one of the guys that work at Sam’s Liquor’s. He was just standing outside, smoking a cigarette. I think his name is Scott – I’m not sure. I’m going to call him Scott here, until I find out otherwise. Anyhow, I saw Scott playing chess with someone else that worked…
