At first, I was nervous about the subject matter. I didn’t want to take advantage, somehow, of her death, using it as a topic. Ultimately, I think the piece was a bit less about her – and a bit more about me, about grief and guilt.

After about 9 bags in, Julie came outside with some breakfast. I’ve learned that for these types of “monolithic” pours… once you start, you really don’t want to stop until it’s all done.

20 presenters, from a wide range of backgrounds, all have to answer the same prompt in two minutes or less. The prompt for Saturday is: “Why Did You Stop?” and everyone will tackle this in their own, unique ways.

Super excited to announce that I’ll be participating again in the next
20×2 Chicago, where 20 creatives are given the same question… and only 2 minutes to answer. The prompt this time is Why Did You Stop? and looks to be a fun one.

Usually when someone yells out the name of a famous person at me, it’s done out of provocation: Bruce Lee, Mr. Miyagi, that sort of thing. When someone yells a name at me, I immediately tense up and prepare myself for some kind of altercation. But somewhere around 2013… strangers started coming up to me thinking I was Steve Aoki.

on Slattery was one of the amazing presenters at last week’s 20×2 Chicago event. While I was looking over the links to all the speakers recently, I stumbled across Ron Slattery’s website, bighappyfunhouse.com.

For those unfamiliar with the event, it gathers 20 creatives together and tasks each of them to answer the same question in 2 minutes or less. Participants can answer the question however they like (some people do presentations, some sing songs, others read poems) – so long as they stick to the 2 minute or less requirement.

The format of the event is a really fun (and open) one: each speaker is give 2 minutes to answer the prompt. They can use whatever format they like, so long as they stay within the 2 minute timeline. In addition to just a spoken presentation, others in the past have performed: a poem, a song, created a video. Heck, one presenter even did a live video display of his double jointed arm (which drove the crowd crazy, so you know).

To date, this was by far the most amazing opening act for 20×2 I’ve ever seen. Jeff Solin had a camera positioned above a small stool, which projected a view of his hand onto the main screen.

I’ve had the privilege of participating in all of the Chicago versions of 20×2, and I’ve had a blast every single time. The participants are always drawn from a wide range of experiences and backgrounds, and you never know what to expect: some folks will do presentations, some will perform songs, you never know what you might see.

Happy to announce that I’ll be participating again in 20×2 Chicago, a super fun event where 20 creatives are given 2 minutes to answer the same question. I’ve had the good fortune to participate in several of the Chicago events, and it’s always incredibly interesting to see how folks decide to go about interpreting/addressing the prompt. It’s up to each…

For my presentation, I answered the question of “Where Are We” by trying to track down all the different Felix Jungs out there in the world, using Facebook. My original goal was to gather as much information as I could on each Felix – and make a presentation on the similarities and differences within our lives.

For my talk, I answered the “Where Are We” question by looking up all the various Felix Jungs I could find on Facebook. I noted where we all are as I found a total of 82 other Felix Jungs. We’re all over the map, in places like Burma and Costa Rica but there’s about 45 Felix Jungs in Germany.
