Checking out how the family photos (and the silly one in particular) turned out.
Checking out how the family photos (and the silly one in particular) turned out.
A view of the chaos, from above.
Day trip today, over to Montague Tree Farms in search of an Xmas tree.
One place where I took a ton of photos: Cosmic Candy Company (aka Pentwater Popcorn).
A busy kitchen. And me, just standing off to the side, watching all the action take place. L to R it’s Liz, waiting on some ingredients, Kirt tending to the turkey and potatoes, Izzy prepping biscuits and rolling croissants, Anne checking the cupboards.
Very slow day overall. Took a nap in the late afternoon, and that pretty much summed up the pace for the day.
After a late breakfast, several of us went to go spend some time helping Kirt work on the new boat he acquired (and is restoring).
I think we really need something like this at my office, at work. If you can’t afford the space for a full on Thunderdome, this might be the next closest thing to use for settling disputes.
Mid-morning today, I was down in the basement with Kirt helping to set up the Super Chexx machine. For all the time I’ve spent playing this game, this was my first time actually touching the puck (pretty cool).
Fast forward a bit, and we’re all hanging out in the yard. Liz has changed and is back on land. And Anne and I decide to play a few rounds of string golf.
Going out for a big meal like this is not something we normally do. But then again, an 80th birthday isn’t something that happens all that often, either.
We rolled into Detroit a bit later than we planned, but the nice thing (and the thing I’ve een struggling to remember) is that we are officially on our holiday break. There are no strict schedules, and no timelines beyond the ones we wish to keep. If we’re running a little late, then so be it – we’ve got the time (which is still a novel concept).
Wait, I hear you asking… if you’re taking the photo, who’s driving the boat?
Kirt, showing off his new socks – comfortable, warm, and full of utility.
The ladies, checking out some family photos on Tricia’s laptop. For some reason, my iPhone added this extra blur/gauze to things and this looks like a ridiculous stock photo.
