A week or so ago, Daisy started to hang out here on a semi-permanent basis. It’s definitely “hers,” if you go by claimed territory as Phineas hasn’t really done the same. After a long period of dormancy, this thing is now someplace you can frequently find Daisy. Just stretched out and relaxing.

Tonight, Liz set up a second bunny cottage for Phineas and Daisy. More and more, this living room area is really becoming their area. Another few months of this Covid-19 business, and I feel like they’ll be in charge of more of the house than us.

For those not familiar with the “flop,” it’s a nice thing to see. Because rabbits are prey animals and typically always wary and on alert, when they’re like this it’s an indication they are relaxed and at ease.

Phineas recently caught some kind of a cold/infection, which has him sneezing a lot. He got this right before his annual checkup, and so now… in addition to his normal round of medication, he’s got a little more.

I saw on Instagram that Mick’s official certificate arrived. The birthday cupcake from his prior photo was phenomenal, but this little fez is just too perfect. Liz pointed out to me that the fez also says “Mick” on it.

For those that aren’t bunny owners, a rabbit flopping on their side is an indicator of comfort and ease. It’s a rare thing to see, and something they typically only do when they feel contented and safe. As their caretakers, Liz and I always feel great whenever we can catch one of them flopped over on their side.

He’s got a lot of regular meds (he suffers from E cuniculi), but he also has some extra meds to help with a cold he recently contracted. And on Sundays, he’s got an extra one that kind of takes his meds over the top.
