Running at Stone Mountain Park, Belated Birthday Date Night
Nothing like having a full day of running, cocktails, and shopping… and ending it with pasta.

Deck Chair Work, Continued
With a lot of rain in the forecast, Liz moved her deck chair refinishing work indoors – and set up shop in the garage.
Attempted Oil Change
Spent some time today, trying to get an old power washer in the garage up and running again. It had been fixed a while ago, but I think it’s been sitting around for a bit… and I was having trouble getting it started.
Sebastian in Concert
Got to attend another concert, this time for Sebastian and his orchestra. We arrived to find a pretty crowded auditorium, and ended up sitting in the back of the gym – but got a pretty close view of Sebastian as a result.

Costco Vases, Deck Chairs
At Costco, comparing various vases. Surprisingly, there was a lot of color and size variation. You wouldn’t think it, Costco being known for a place that has numerous mass-produced items. But we dug through a lot of vases here, trying to find two that actually matched one another.
Paint Plans

Running in the Rain, Table Work
Liz and I headed out today for a run, despite a bit of rain. Here she is, prepped for the weather (and me, less so).

In the far corner, just underneath the deck, there was a nest of young birds. And of course, both Liz and Audrey were very concerned about their well being during our construction.

Today, the kids got involved in the process. Here’s Liz, showing Paige and Audrey how to work the circular saw… and how to cut down some of the debris we were getting rid of (we were throwing the old boards from the second floor, down to the backyard).

We ended up needing a lot more than what was available (Kirt and went through a lot of boards, and discarded plenty). Ended up getting a guy with the forklift, to bring down a few fresh bundles.
The New Tools
I’d heard about this new approach to connecting water lines: instead of soldering things, using a press tool to connect lines seems to be the new thing.
I know of SharkBite fittings, that do something similar. But the mini press approach seems to have a lot of advantages, in terms of ease and speed. A big thing I heard is that in order to solder… the water needs to be completely removed from the pipes. But using a mini press, having water doesn’t matter at all.
Kit’s Day Out
Well, figuratively on the loose. Kit was out and about, but they had tied a small balloon to him (so folks could see, at a distance, that he was out and about).
Parking Lot Traffic Jam
I was waiting in my car, at the grocery store… when I saw this other car driving extremely slowly. I wasn’t sure what was going on, but then I caught a small flash of feathers.
