Jenny and Jaleo
Before dinner, we met at Pigtail (the adjoining Cocktail bar, underneath Jaleo).

I learned my cousin Jenny was in town this week, and we made plans to meet up for an early breakfast/coffee. Something about this week – a ton of friends and family are in town. When it rains it pours, I guess.
As luck would have it, my cousin Jenny was in town this week – and we made plans to catch up over some coffee, early on Friday morning. We met up at the Intelligentsia that’s near Millennium Station (the one that I tend to walk by, but rarely stop at because I’m rushing to get to work).
Saturday, a lot of the Jung family returned to Indianapolis to attend Grandma Phoebe’s funeral. We are all spread out across the US (and even as far as Shanghai), but came back together again to say our farewells at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Another milestone, for my Grandma Phoebe – as family and friends gathered to celebrate her 105th birthday. Lots of dim sum, birthday cake, balloons, photos, and no small amount of face swapping on our mobile phones. A fun day catching up with cousins and nieces and nephews from all over (and technically all over the world).
Interestingly enough, though Jenny and I both call her grandma – Jenny uses the term “Po-Po” as Grandma Phoebe is her mother’s mother. But I refer to Grandma Phoebe as “Ma-Ma,” referencing her as my father’s mother. It’s nuanced, and the whole Chinese naming thing gets complicated at times.
