Yard Work, New Plants
Today was a yard day, with Liz working on weeding and planting in the front yard and me mowing the lawn in back.

Thankful once again that my wife handles our taxes, and has a more number-inclined mind than I do.
Mostly a cleanup day today. I spent a lot of time taking out nails from the wall studs I removed. A kind of slow process that was slower and more labor intensive than I expected.
Liz and I visited Michelle and Mike on Sunday, and got the chnace to meet baby Fritz for the first time.
Saturday, Liz and I ventured into the attic with Bob to take another look at the ceiling above our office space. We were talking about potentially lofting the space, and wanted to get a better look at everything “up there” in the attic.
As we were walking to work, she joked to me that of the various things she had on… the top was the
only thing that she actually purchased, and didn’t make. When I realized the extent to which her ensemble was all hand-made, I insisted on a photo.
We needed the covers off in order to be able to access the two slots, which is what’s used to fasten/mount them. On looking inside, I Was surprised to see that the lights were actually small strips of LEDs.
Got a little time in the basement yesterday with Liz, after work. She worked on marking the front basement area with the laser level, to determine where our lights are going to go.
Easter dinner, which would later be followed by some apple pie. Great meal, great weekend.
Liz and I got to stay in the basement at the lakehouse, and that room always results in more sleep that we intended. Given that the room has no windows, it’s easy to lose track of time – and to roll out of bed around 9:30 or 10AM without thinking twice.
Friday after work, Liz and I headed out to Michigan to visit the Denler family and to stay at the Christiana lake house over Easter weekend. We’ve visited before, and it’s always an incredibly relaxing time just resting and catching up with family.
Liz and I worked on the basement a bit after work. We joined Bob (who had been at our place since midday), and were tackling smaller odds and ends as he began work on the stairs.
Bob came by Sunday morning, and spent a very full and long day with us at the house. Before his arrival, Liz and I were moving a few of the power tools back downstairs (because this is how we live now, moving things back and forth in our house).
After another busy day at work, the last thing I really wanted to do was “house night.” But it was on the calendar, and I trudged my way downstairs where Liz was busy measuring things up.
I started off the meal with a martini and a dozen oysters. Had a second martini with my steak, and it was quite delicious.
