On my way to helping Bob with the furnace, I stopped by Frankfort to drop Liz off at her parents’ house. They have an annual tradition of making apple pies, and Liz was going to be joining her mom, Katie, and Savannah and prepping up a ton of pies.

The goal was to have an informal get-together, where folks could take advantage of the nearby Logan Square Famer’s Market. We’d provide some drinks and light snacks, and the market would provide the rest (tons of great food nearby).

Today marks four years that Liz and I have been married! I don’t think I ever posted up photos from our awesome wedding here… but I created a few photo galleries on Google Plus. It truly was a wonderful day, to officially have tied the knot while so many of our friends and family watched on. We threw one heck…

Liz and I made a plan to work on cleaning up our office this weekend. Though it’s the start of a long weekend for us, we decided the office needed some cleaning attention. Or rather, as Liz put it, we needed to stop having the office be “a shame room.”

On Wednesday evening, Liz and I headed back to Red Door, this time with Quincy along with us. We got word that despite his E Cuniculi, Quincy was given the ok to visit with both the EC and non-EC bunnies – which meant things worked out in every possible way.

A few days ago, Liz and I headed over to Red Door Animal Shelter to visit a few of their rabbits. It’s been many weeks since Baxter passed away, and it wasn’t until very recently that Liz felt like she was ready to think about adopting another rabbit.

Liz and Stacey, having a laugh. It was a bit of a hectic drive to get here, but it was nice to be able to settle down to a meal right when we arrived.

Last night, there was a momentary encounter between Quincy and Tus (who have met before). But seeing how Quincy is crazy brave and not scared in the slightest of Tus… we may try another introduction this week.

It was a bit of an impromptu idea, but my family decided that we were going to do a quick weekend vacation out to Michigan this weekend. We enjoyed ourselves a lot last year, when we hung out in Sawyer, and Liz and I have come back several times since. With SW Michigan only being maybe an hour or so from the city, it’s a surprising and remarkably fast drive (barring any serious traffic).

Walking through the neighborhood around 8:00 PM, Liz and I passed by La Boulangerie – the french bakery and pastry shop at the end of our street. We were walking to go grab a drink and pick up some take-out food… and noticed a small bag of pastries (a bag chock full of tasty croissants), sitting by the door. We decided to grab some on the way back.

From time to time, Julie and Bob will come into the city and spend the evening with us. We’ve gone and hit up a few bars/restaurants in our neighborhood, and it’s always a fun time. Over the weekend, they came in and we tried (unsucessfully) to get in to Longman & Eagle. So far, it’s the one neighborhood spot that has always filled up before we can get there in time.

Found out that this weekend was the first day of the Logan Square Farmer’s Market. When it’s running, this has been a Sunday tradition for me and Liz. Sometimes we’ll stroll through after a brunch out at Lula Cafe; othertimes, we’ll have a late breakfast made of things we’d grab at a few different booths.

I had forgotten how friendly and nice most vendors are – if you express an interest in an item, they’re usually more than enthusiastic about telling you its history, how they acquired it, what they know about it. While some vendors are simply selling off old junk to get rid of it, many of them are collectors – passionate about a particular type of item, and very into the things they place on their tabletops.
