Hanging Out at the Hyatt
Did I mention they both had a fairly large cookie, prior to this segment of the evening?

Worked on the house a bit tonight, after work. I was upstairs, getting insulation around some pipes while Liz was adding insulation to the walls in the first floor bathroom (and along the basement stairs).
Spent Saturday doing a little more work on the house. While Liz was cleaning up the first floor bathroom (vacuuming debris and taking out nails), I was busting out the exterior wall along the stairs that lead to the basement. I was skeptical that any insulation was in the walls (because it’s missing from literally…
L to R it’s Liz, Michelle, and Meg. It was pretty cold that morning, and everyone was trying to get their photos done as quickly as possible.
Spent last night talking about house plans, and going over receipts from our numerous trips to Home Depot. We’re getting ready to do our taxes, and were looking over purchases we made.
One of the first booths we encountered was Somewhere in Time. There were a large number of necklaces on display, and the vendor went into a great story about how these were discovered in a warehouse in the Czech Republic.
Earlier in the week, Liz and I went out to Home Depot to pick up more supplies for the house. A big item on our list was lots of insulation for our pipes. We knew which types to get, thanks to Bob, and so Liz ended up doing much of the ordering online (and using the in-store pickup option).
Well, I’ve used the word “Final” one too many times when talking about the kitchen, but I really do believe this is the final, final bit of demo work we had left in the place. Liz, tackling the remaining bit of wall/plaster with a chisel.
Headed over to Ben and Allison’s this morning with Liz, to stop in and visit baby Ingrid.
Seeing wall to ceiling insulation on the South wall was really something to behold. I have to admit – I got a little teary-eyed, seeing so much up. Perhaps, when the true winter kicks in again, this room will fare a bit better against the chill.
On Sunday, Bob and Julie came over to help us work on the house. Here they are with Liz, down in the basement going over future plans.
To date, the attic has been one of the longest-running project areas in the house. And to think that it’s over, and we don’t have to go up there anymore… well, it’s difficult to fathom. I don’t know that it’s really sunk in yet.
This morning, Liz and I met up with Chris and Leslie at Longman & Eagle, in the back at the Off Site Bar (OSB) for their Weekend Donut Shop.
When we first started, we opened up each bag of insulation on the 2nd floor in Liz’s office. It was slow going, as each bag contained 8 lengths of insulation, which we walked up the ladder one by one to the attic opening.
On Friday, both Liz and I had the day off. Since we were looking to add insulation to the attic this weekend, we decided to make Friday our day to get supplies.
