Liz Featured on Sew Weekly
Late in the day today, I got an excited email from Liz with a link to a site called Sew Weekly. When I loaded up the site, guess who I saw – front and center, right there on the home page!

On Sunday, Liz and I headed out to Niles to attend a baby shower for Bryan and Jamie. We got to see Jamie and Bryan shortly after walking in the doors (and we were followed closely by Justin and Alexis). Note: check out Bryan’s ponytail!
With our vacation in full swing, Liz and I have been pretty busy with our own projects. Most mornings this week, I’ve gone to New Wave Coffee and set up shop with a bottomless mug. After that, I head home and alternate between being on my computer and playing video games.
Over the past two weeks, Liz has been itching to re-do the dining room. It’s the place where she spends the bulk of her time (at the dining room table), with her sewing projects.
A little later in the evening, Katie got on Skype with Tricia and her family. It was a lot of fun to watch everyone on the laptop, talking with everyone down in Atlanta.
To celebrate Christmas, Liz and I headed down to Frankfort to visit her folks. We went a day early, and ended up spending the night there – spending both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with them.
After our big outing to the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, all of us went over to my Auntie Vickie’s house to visit Grandma Phoebe for a little while.
Small historical note: In the 3rd grade at Spring Mill Elementary, my teacher Mrs. McKenna gave a challenge out to the students. For anyone who could remember all the presidents and vice-presidents in order, and could recite them from memory… she offered up a special treat. I was one of the kids who did this, and I can’t remember who the other two were. I think Aaron was one of the other ones, but can’t remember for sure.
We continued the early Christmas tour by visiting my sister’s family in Indianapolis. We all went out to Maggiano’s for a family dinner, then back to Stacey’s house to open gifts.
As is our annual tradition, we had an early Christmas with the Holder family at their home in Atlanta, GA. Recently, the Fords moved down to Atlanta as well, and are currently staying with the Holders. Needless to say, we had a very full house – which, over the holidays… is the best kind of house.
Liz has been hard at work in the kitchen this weekend, preparing her annual fruitcake. A few things you should know: first, this is not the usual dry and crumbly thing that most people think of, when the word fruitcake is mentioned. Second – there is a lot of booze in the fruitcakes Liz makes.
After reading things over, it dawned on me what I was looking at. This wasn’t some mere list of instructions or rules…
This was a challenge.
Today was the very last day for Wolff’s Flea Market at the Allstate arena. Chris mentioned having an interest in going, and convinced Leslie to tag along. The night before, I got a call from Ben, also asking to tag along.
Fast forward a bit to the Museum of Science and Industry! On the main floor, we spotted the room for Month at the Museum 2. We didn’t catch Kevin, but I checked out his schedule and made a note to swing back later in the day.
Liz’s mom Julie had a birthday a few days ago, and one of her wishes was to spend a day in Chicago. So Liz and I met up with Julie and Bob early Saturday morning, with a whole host of activities on the docket. First up – a plant sale at the Garfield Park Conservatory.
